Guest Bedroom Decor Idea

“Open Crazy Late” Print // “Hahaha” Print // Mirror // Sconce // Duvet // Bedside Table // Bench // Rug

I haven’t created an e-design for a while and thought now was the perfect time to put one together. This is a little guest bedroom decor inspiration and I’m sure I subconsciously wanted to do it because I’ve had ours on my mind lately. We’ve had a fair amount of visitors since moving back and our guest room is totally undone so I’m feeling like I want to try and get it in order a little. I’m currently on the hunt for a headboard and once I find something that will probably help kick off the rest of the design. Buuuuut I think it might take a while. I’m looking for something that’s really cheap because we’re not sure we’re going to keep the full mattress or try and get a larger one. But, that’s not super high on the priority list so in the mean time I’m hoping to find something that’s inexpensive and maybe DIY it a little for an upgrade. This design is helping me feel a little more inspired to look harder.

I think a guest room is a place where you can have some fun. It’s not used as often and so taking risks feels a little less scary. Plus, having a place to stay that’s fun and unique is always something I enjoy, so I’m assuming others do too! I started with the bedspread and the side table. Oh my gosh, I love them both! I love how the soft watery-ness of the bedspread pairs with the intense color of the table. I added the sconces because I’m a new found lover of them myself and of course I like a little gold in pretty much any space. The rug is the same one we have in our living room (except ours is grey) and it’s a good quality wool so it feels really substantial and it’s nice to walk on. I knew I’d want a bench to serve as a luggage rack, plus I think having a mirror in a guest room is another nice touch so your visitors don’t have to leave the room to check their outfit or put on their make-up. The last thing I added were the two prints – I reallllly love that “hahaha” one. I’m not sure why, something about it just speaks to me. And I think the “open crazy late” one is really cute, maybe because it feels like whenever we have house guests we always stay up extra late talking and catching up. Anyway, I hope you guys have a great weekend!

Kitchen Renovation: Layout and Final Mood Board

ou guys! I can’t believe it’s finally here, but we’ve actually decided on a kitchen layout. I cannot tell you how many times we thought we were close, only to discover a kink in the plans. Like…that we accidentally drew the refrigerator too small in the initial plans, or that we then had it right next to a wall, or that we didn’t have anywhere for trash, or the microwave placement. It’s been such a long process, but I’m really glad we took the time to think it through very carefully.

Small Foyer Décor Idea

At the beginning of the year I made a list of all the projects I want to get done in 2018. Then, I organized them by the quarter I thought I would get them done. Because the biggest project of the year will be the kitchen, which we’ll hopefully be starting on shortly the only other thing I put on the list for the first few months of the year was the foyer. It’s the smallest project on the 2018 list so it made sense to do that at the same time as our largest project of the year. Plus, I think it will be good for mental breaks from the kitchen when we really need them.

Kitchen Inspiration Mood Boards

Hi Friends, happy Thursday! Today I’m sharing another kitchen update. Outside of work, our trip to Italy, and getting ready for the holidays the kitchen is pretty much the only thing I’ve been working on. We’ve narrowed in on the scheme and I’m feeling really good about it. And in terms of getting to work, at this point we’ve gotten quotes from Ikea, Home Depot, Lowes, and we’re waiting on one from a custom cabinetry maker.

Small Bathroom Decor Idea

Happy Monday, friends! Today I’m sharing another e-design that I just love right now. It’s an idea for a powder bath or half bath. It’s so calming, pretty, chic, and eclectic. It all started with the wallpaper. I mean, it’s so pretty. The colors with the metallic gold accents. Phew, it doesn’t get much better than that. From there I added in some wood in the vanity and the stools. A little texture from the towels and the mirror. And pulled it together with some accents that aren’t too overwhelming. This is basically my dream small bathroom design.

Living Room Décor Idea: Traditional and Cozy

Today I have another e-design. This time it’s a living room décor idea that’s traditional with a casual and contemporary twist.

This is one I’ve been working on for a client and is a bit more traditional than I usually swing towards. But, I’m really loving how fresh yet masculine it feels. The leather sofa and chunky coffee table ground the space. And those gorgeous swivel rockers, the lighter furniture, and clear glass lamps all add some femininity. The texture on the navy pillows as well as from the stone fireplace make it feel extra cozy. Overall it’s a great blend of traditional, casual, and cozy. What do you think?

Living Room Decor Idea

Over the weekend I did another e-design and this time it was a living room. I keep thinking about how much I want a sectional and even though it would be a while before we got one because we have so many other things on the list that are more important right now I was still inspired by this one.
