Hi there! Happy Thursday, friends. I’m so excited about today’s post because I’ve decided to participate in the One Room Challenge (!!!) as a guest blogger. If you’re not familiar with the One Room Challenge it’s a 6-week event where 20 or so bloggers choose a room and completely renovate it. Changes run the gamut from just decor updates to gut renovations. Every week they post updates of their progress and at the end of the 6-weeks there are all these beautiful, inspiring rooms to marvel at. And the best part is that anyone with a blog can participate as a guest – so that’s what I’m doing! Guest participants share weekly updates every Thursday, so this is the first in a series of 6 installments!
One Room Challenge: The Room
The room I’ve chosen for this One Room Challenge is a client living room redecoration project. It’s a central part of the client’s home where they spend most of their time. They like to relax at the end of long week there as well as host their adult kids from time-to-time. They wanted a space that would promote conversation but also allow them to kick back and watch a little TV after work. Their style is a modern and casual traditional with some eclectic elements thrown in. We’ll be completely making over the space, but not making any structural changes. The wall behind the sofa separates the living room from the kitchen and they’d like to take that down, but we’re still figuring out if it’s structural or not. So, for now we’re sticking to decoration updates.
I’m so excited about the changes we have in store to make this room the perfect gathering place and a relaxing spot to unwind. Next week I’ll share the mood board with preliminary material choices, color palettes and overall feel for the room.
Cheers!
