Hi guys, today we’re halfway through the One Room Challenge and I’m feeling pretty good. It’s definitely still going to be a stretch to get everything finished, but I’m still optimistic! If you want to know more about the One Room Challenge, or what’s happened the past couple weeks you can read about it here:

2017 One Room Challenge Update

We made a pretty major purchase since I talked to you last – we got a rug! We went with a really pretty Persian with lots of blues and oranges in it. It’s a great quality and the clients love it so I’m really pleased. We also decided on a fabric for the chairs – it’s a rich cream with a nice texture to it. And you guys, it was only $8 a yard!! A total score! The chairs have been sent off to be recovered and we should get them back in a couple weeks. I can’t wait to see them finished I think it’s going to add so much to the room.

2017 One Room Challenge: Challenges

My biggest struggle as of late is the coffee table and side tables. We’ve kicked around a few ideas but I haven’t felt like anything is quite right. Here are the ones I’m interested in right now. We’re definitely looking for an open box style with a wood top, I’m just not sure about the exact color. It also needs to be relatively large so that has ruled out a few I really liked.

2017 One Room Challenge: Up Next

I’m thinking of doing a picture ledge with an eclectic mix of art on the wall behind the sofa and I’m excited about the possibilities for those. I need to get out to some thrift stores and try and pick up a few unique pieces for it.

In the next week I’m hoping to make a decision on the coffee and side tables so those can be ordered in time, start gathering a little art for the ledges, and land on a paint color for the room to get it painted by the end of the six weeks. I’m thinking something light and bright for the walls because we’ve got a lot of dark things going on right now and the clients really like cozy, but bright and welcoming living rooms. I can’t wait to be back next week with more updates for you. Here’s hoping we’ve ordered some tables by then!!

2017 One Room Challenge: Week 1

Hi there! Happy Thursday, friends. I’m so excited about today’s post because I’ve decided to participate in the One Room Challenge (!!!) as a guest blogger. If you’re not familiar with the One Room Challenge it’s a 6-week event where 20 or so bloggers choose a room and completely renovate it. Changes run the gamut from just decor updates to gut renovations. Every week they post updates of their progress and at the end of the 6-weeks there are all these beautiful, inspiring rooms to marvel at. And the best part is that anyone with a blog can participate as a guest – so that’s what I’m doing! Guest participants share weekly updates every Thursday, so this is the first in a series of 6 installments!
