DIY Toiletry Baskets for Your Clawfoot Tub Shower Combo

The hardest part of this project was finding the right baskets. They needed to be small, but able to hold a lot, have a back, deep, and be fairly light. Once we found them we attached them to the shower kit with hose clamps I spray-painted black to match the kit. That’s why we needed them to be light, our kit, like most, isn’t very sturdy and wouldn’t have been able to support some of those heavy shower caddies. It was going to be mounted almost as if it were floating so the back was important. Some don’t have one because they’re meant to be mounted against a shower wall, which acts as the back. And I also wanted them to hold enough that we could fit all our toiletries in there without easily falling out. Deep and efficient were a must! And you know what? We looked all around. Target, Amazon, Bed Bath and Beyond, Lowes. But, we found the perfect one at Walmart. I usually hate shopping there, but it was the last resort and turned out to have exactly what we were looking for. Toiletry Basket for Your Clawfoot Tub Shower Combo: The Basics

So, it’s as easy as that. Get the basket that works best for you. I recommend this one – we got two. Get some hose clamps from your local hardware store. Spray paint them to match your shower hardware if necessary. And then attach them to the shower kit. Honestly, it couldn’t be simpler! I did include a step-by-step below.

Clawfoot Tub Shower Combo Toiletry Basket: A DIY

1. Find hose clamps that are slightly bigger than your pipe.
2. Spray paint them to match the finish of your pipe. Ours is blackened bronze so we painted them black.
3. Use the hose clamps to clamp the basket at the desired height. Tighten until snug – but not too tight you don’t want to damage the pipe.
