Vacation Part 1: La Paz

We just got back from our vacation in Mexico and we had the best time! We were in Baja California Sur and made stops in La Paz and Todos Santos. The trip was to celebrate Xan’s 30th birthday with his twin brother and girlfriend. And, Baja is just a 3-hour flight from San Francisco with a time difference of one hour, making it the perfect quick trip that feels worlds away. It was so nice to just live in our bathing suits and not worry about much else besides sunscreen and where we could find our next tacos.

I’ve never really enjoyed tropical vacations because I get kind of bored sitting on the beach day after day. But, this blew me away. La Paz was our first stop and it so fun and adventurous, we went snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and hiking. We also spent time on some of the most outrageously beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. I mean it, the water was so clear and turquoise that you could see to the very bottom almost everywhere we went. To top it all off there were gorgeous, lush, green mountains all around.

We didn’t think it was a good idea to bring a nice camera so these are all iphone photos – sorry about the quality. But, we had so much fun I just had to share!

Our first day in Mexico was an all day boat, snorkel, and kayak tour of Espiritu Santo.

During the trip we stopped for lunch at Ensenada Grande Beach and we were the only ones there! It was one of my favorite parts of the trip - it was unbelievably beautiful.

Everywhere you go livestock is bound to wander into the road. Goat, cows, and horses - we saw them all!

Sunsets at the Malecón which was just a few blocks from our Airbnb.

I loved this cup! I have this thing with skeletons.

There was a delicious tortilleria next door to our AIrbnb. They were 10 cents a piece and made for the perfect car snack on our ride to Todos Santos.
